Wang, a Ph.D. candidate in the Xu Group, won the JenLab Young Investigator Award for Best Paper at SPIE Photonics West
Tianyu Wang, Ph.D. candidate in the Xu Group in the School of Applied and Engineering Physics, recently won the JenLab Young Investigator Award for Best Paper at SPIE Photonics West, the world’s largest photonics technologies conference, held this from 28 January – 2 February 2017 in San Francisco, California. Wang received the award for his paper “In vivo three-photon activity imaging of GCaMP6-labeled neurons in deep cortex and the hippocampus of the mouse brain." Other authors include Dimitre Ouzounov, Mengran Wang, Danielle Feng, Jean Cruz-Hernandez, Nozomi Nishimura, and Chris Xu of Cornell University, and Jacob Reimer, and Andreas Tolias, of Baylor College of Medicine.
The award includes a $2000 cash prize and an all-expense paid trip to Europe to present the work at a microscopy conference as an invited speaker. Read more about the event by visiting the SPIE website.
