Biography

Dr. Rajawat received his Ph.D. in 2018 from Homi Bhabha National Institute, India for his work on "Study of electrostatic instabilities in current carrying cold plasmas". Dr. Rajawat conducted his doctoral thesis work at Institute for Plasma Research, India. He investigated electron beam-driven electrostatic coherent structures and the role of relativistic/non-relativistic Buneman instability on plasma heating and late-time coherent structures using an electrostatic particle-in-cell simulation code. At Cornell, he is involved in theoretical and simulation work of unmagnetized relativistic plasma shocks, ultra-intense laser-target interaction, and topological phenomena in low-density, low-energy magnetized plasma structures.
