Congratulations Brian Abbett of the Fennie Group
Congratulations Brian Abbett of the Fennie Research Group in AEP, for being selected as a Fellow of the Materials for a Sustainable Future IGERT (Integrative Graduate Education and Research Traineeship) program! This is a two-year fellowship that will cover the cost of his tuition, stipend, health insurance, and some research travel from Fall 2012 through Summer 2014.
As part of the IGERT program, Brian will take two semesters of the IGERT modular course: Chem 7890, Introduction to Nanoscale Materials Research. During his first year of support, he will write a 7-page proposal on his interdisciplinary research project. He will also participate in a half-day leadership course during the first six weeks of the Fall semester. In addition, IGERT Fellows engage in at least one educational outreach activity per year.
