Far Above...
In late 2006, Cornell launched Far Above … The Campaign for Cornell, the most ambitious fundraising campaign in Cornell’s history. This bold effort will support undergraduate and graduate students with increased scholarships and financial aid; faculty, scientists, and scholars with endowed professorships and program funding; and building and renovation of world-class facilities designed for teaching, learning, and research in the 21st century. With support from alumni and friends, A&EP will be able to transform, physically and programmatically, to continue its excellence for decades to come.

The tightest constraint on A&EP's research and educational programs is space. A&EP's research groups are in a high state of compression, and A&EP does not currently control or have scheduling priority in any teaching space. When completed, the new Physical Sciences Building will provide much needed teaching labs, research labs, seminar/meetings space, faculty/graduate student offices, and invaluable public gathering spaces in the dramatic first-floor atria running alongside Clark Hall and Baker Lab. Seeing this building program through to completion is A&EP's highest priority.
Renovation of Clark Hall
As faculty hiring proceeds, the existing space in Clark Hall will need extensive renovations to meet the shifting research needs and to comply with the evolving safety and regulatory requirements.
Endowed Professorships
A&EP will use named professorships to recruit new assistant professors and to honor senior faculty members. Endowed professorships would enable the school to increase the faculty size by two lines.
A&EP’s ability to recruit the best young researchers hinges on our ability to offer competitive start-up packages.
To enhance our ability to recruit the very best graduate students and to enhance our research productivity, we need to be able to offer more multi-year graduate fellowships. Multi-year fellowships also enhance the student learning experience by allowing the students greater flexibility to explore research opportunities and interests. To support increased enrollments in our courses and our additional hands-on course offerings, we need resources to fund additional graduate teaching assistants.
Unrestricted gifts to A&EP boost its potential and strength by providing the school with the financial flexibility and stability to address priorities and seize opportunities.
Making a Gift
Corporate matching gifts count as a gift from you and are a powerful way to double your giving. If your company has a matching gift program, please contact your HR director.
